Offer Description - Cenospheres
Cenospheres are formed at some power stations fired by pulverised coal.
The word 'cenosphere' comes from two Greek words: 'kenos' ('hollow') and 'sphaira' ('sphere') . Cenospheres are in fact hollow lightweight alumino- silicate bubbles. Cenospheres are also known as hollowspheres, microspheres, cennaspheres and hohlkugeln. Cenospheres are formed at some power stations fired by pulverised coal. Part of the resultant pulverised fuel ash is removed in the form of slurry into a lagoon. Here most of the particles settle out, but a small portion floats on the surface where than can be collected.
