EURO 307
BASIC COATED MULTIPURPOSE STAINLESS ELECTRODE
PRODUCING A WELD METAL OF 18% Cr- 9% Ni and 5. 5% Mn.
CODING:
IS: M AOI 10
DIN: E Kb 18 8 Mn6 20+
CHARACTERISTICS:
EURO 307 is a medium coated low- hydrogen type stainless steel electrode producing a weld metal
chemistry and mechanical properties unique in terms of versatility in applications. The electrode is
characterized by soft and stable arc which is easy to strike and restrike, smooth, well rippled shining weld
beads and easy slag detachability. The electrode is suitable for welding in down hand, horizontal, vertical
upwards and overhead positions. EURO 307 produces an austenitic stainless steel weld metal containing
18% Cr, 9% Ni and 5. 5% Mn. The non magnetic weld metal is very tough and its physical properties are
maintained even when welding steels of different compositions.
APPLICATIONS:
EURO 307 has multipurpose applications, e. g joining stainless steel of similar composition, welding
austenitic steels to ferritic steels. In this combination it can be employed for service temperatures upto
550?C. Steels resistant to scaling can also be welded with EURO 307 since the weld deposit displays such
resistance upto 850?C. Typical applications of EURO 307 include:
JOINING:
Heat treatable steels, Armour plates, Heat resistant steels, Austenitic manganese steels, Dissimiliar
steels, Wear resistant parts to earthmoving and stone working machines, Austenitic manganese steel wear
plates and bars.
HARD FACING:
Clam shell bucket lips, clutch lugs, Conveyors, Crusher Cones, Crusher Ha mm ers, Crusher Jaws, Crusher
Lugs, Crusher Mantles, Crusher Rolls, Crusher Teeth, Dipper Teeth, Drag line Bucket Lips and Teeth,
Grizzles, Grousers, Shovel Lips, Pulveriser Ploughs. Pulveriser Rolls, Sizing screens, Rail Ends, Austenitic
manganese steel, Rail frogs, switches and crossings, Hot working Tools.

PRECAUTIONS:
Keep the electrodes dry. Damp electrodes should be redried for two hours at 200?C. Clean the surface to
be weld free of rust, dust, paint, oil. grease or any other foreign matter. Keep the arc as short as possible and
if weaving to be used, it should be relatively slow with a short pause at joint edges. Avoid a large molten
metal pool.
