The GMA 347 audio panel builds upon the successfulattributes of the GMA 340 while adding benefits suchas automatic squelch, digital clearance recorder, anda full- duplex telephone interface. TheGMA 347's automatic squelch option makes the entireaudio experience quieter and clearer. Since there aresome occasions when pilots wouldnt want an automaticsquelchsuch as high- noise environmentsthe GMA 347also retains the manual squelch adjustment feature. Garmin has also added three more unmuted, unswitchedinputs with individual volume control. TheGMA 347s automatic digital clearance recorder helpspilots manage the demands of a busy cockpit. The unitcontinuously captures the last two and one half minutesof audio switched through the panel. If a pilot misses afrequency change or clearance, he or she can replay thenecessary information by simply pressing the playbutton. Inaddition, the GMA 347 has a full- duplex telephoneinterface with intercom isolation and disablecapability. This feature allows private telephone callsby the pilot or copilot, or multi- party calls with crewand/ or passengers. Pilotswill also appreciate the integration of the G1000sconfiguration module into the GMA 347.
