Surface quality:

Continuous cast square billets are supplied in as- cast condition without surface treatment. Billet surface shall be free from teeming arrest, flaws and visible cracks.



Billet end quality:

Laps of oxidized metal resulting from gas cutting at CCM are allowed on billet end faces. Visible shrinkage holes resulting from torch cutting at CCM are not allowed on billet end faces.

Marking:

One billet end shall have colour identification code and label sticker, the other end shall be hot/ cold stamped with indication of heat number and steel grade.



Packing:

6- 12 meter long continuous cast billets are packed in bundles of 4- 10 t weight. Three weather- resistant plastic tags are fixed onto bundles (with a thermal stamping) specifying the customer, purchase order number, steel grade, heat number, size, bundle number and weight and country of destination
