Lightning Cable are lightning receptors on overhead transmission lines, also known as overhead ground wires, which refer to wires that are directly connected to the earth on high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage lines.Due to the shielding of conductor wire by the overhead ground wire and the coupling between conductor wire and the overhead ground wire, the chance of light directly hitting the wire can be reduced.When light strikes the tower, part of the light currently can be shunted through the overhead ground wire,thereby reducing electric potential at the top of the tower and improving the lightning resistance level.The lightning conductor also has the function of electromagnetic shielding. When the thundercloud near the line discharges to the ground, it can reduce the lightning-induced overvoltage caused on the conductor.It is also possible to limit the amplitude and steepness of the lightning shock wave intruding into the substation along the line.

 Lightning conductors are generally made of galvanized steel strands with a cross-sectional area of not less than 35mm2 or Zn-5%Al-mischmetal alloy-coated steel wire strand（also named galfan strand or aluzinc strand）.The lightning protection line has the characteristics of small investment, simple installation and no maintenance.

 Pay attention to the following points during storage and use:

 1. Pay attention to rainproof, moistureproof and scratchproof when storing;

 2. Handle with care when loading and unloading the forklift to avoid loosening the wooden reel due to excessive force;

 3. When using, avoid long-term dragging on the ground and friction with other objects to prevent the zinc layer/zinc-aluminum layer from being worn;

 4. The installation of the overhead ground wire needs to be higher than the top of the pole to a certain height。
