Iron Ore Deposit

Iron ore is a natural mineral formation containing iron and its compounds in such a volume that the industrial extraction of iron from these formations is economically feasible.

The most important minerals are: magnetite, magnomagnetite, titanomagnetite, hematite, hydrohematite, goethite, hydrogoethite, siderite, ferruginous chlorites. Iron ores differ in mineral composition, iron content, useful and harmful impurities, conditions of formation and industrial properties.

Depending on the amount of iron content in the ore, it is divided into several types:

Iron ore deposits are divided into three main groups

Magmatogenic deposits:

Mineral deposits, the source of mineral substances of which is magma; are formed during the isolation of magmatic melts, gas and liquid mineral solutions in the process of cooling and crystallization of magma in the bowels of the Earth.

Exogenous deposits:

Mineral deposits associated with ancient and modern geochemical processes of the Earth. Formed on the surface of the Earth in its thin upper part, including the horizons of groundwater and partially stratal groundwater, at the bottom of swamps, lakes, rivers, seas and oceans.)

Metamorphogenic deposits:

Mineral deposits formed in the process of metamorphism of rocks in an environment of high pressures and temperatures and located among metamorphic complexes.)
